Hello pmleblanc,

From my intial research, it appears that p4m266-8235 is not a
motherboard part number, but rather part numbers of VIA chpsets that
are used on a number of motherboards by various manufacturers.

If you have the manufacturer and motherboard number, or even just the
manufacturer, I may be able to find the proper manual for you to
download.

Hello pmleblanc,

Thank you for your question and thanks for the clarification.
Unfortunately, Belarc does not give us the manufacturer of the
motherboard, but we may get lucky.

Matsonic has a board that matches your description and has a
downloadable manual in pdf format:

MS9138E / MS9138D

VIA P4M266 + 8235

Manual : http://206.135.80.155/manual/ms9138e.zip

Drivers and bios flashes are also available on this page (about 15-20%
of the way down under MS9138E / MS9138D):

http://www.matsonic.com.tw/eng/update.htm

Xsonic also has a model:
http://www.xsonictech.com.tw/img_x/mb/spec_xp4m266pro.html

But, unfortunately their manual is not online for download.

It also appears that motherboards made with this chipset came from
Biostar and Jetway, though it is possible these are all identical and
OEM'd from the same manufacturer (perhaps Xsonic) for these sellers.
Manuals for these models are not available online. It also seems that
the only board sold in the US (or at least, commonly sold in the US)
is the Matsonic. So I have a good feeling about this manual being
accurate for you.

Do try the manual above, and, as I mentioned, we may be lucky. If this
does not appear to be exactly what you need, do post another
clarification and I shall continue to search. If you could physically
look at the board and search for brandnames printed on the board
itself, it could be helpful.

Good luck!

first, it looks very similiar but, both of these motherbards have only
2 pci slots, mine has 3 pci slots.
second, where on the motherboard would I find it's identification?

I found which one it was, and it was none of the ones you suggested.
It was
U8668 Pro Specification
High Performance VIA Apollo P4M266 chipset based ATX motherboard for
the 478-pin IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 Processor combining SDRAM or high
bandwidth DDR SDRAM support with onboard AC'97 Audio.
Manufactored by viarama

thanks anyway!!

Ahh. I had hoped this might have been it and there seems to be little
else to find on the Internet without knowing at least the
manufacturer. Where did you buy this machine or motherboard? Are you
in the US or elsewhere? These answers could be helpful as well.
The name of the manufacturer should appear somewhere on the board,
though may be difficult to spot with cards installed. Most likely,
close to one edge and possibly in the center. Look for printing that
is a bit larger than that which identifies jumpers and devices. Use a
flashlight, try removing cards.

Let me know if you find anything promising.

Just saw your last clarification as I was posting mine.

Good news!

Have you located the manual for this board or would you like me to see
if I can find it for you?

Hi again,

The downloads for that motherboard are here:
http://www.viarama.com/products/U8668P_download.jsp

Though you will note there is no downloadable manual. You can contact
Viarama at this page to see if they can be of help:
http://www.viarama.com/ramacontacts/index.jsp?product=9/P4X266A%20PE10-LA/RAMA%20Mainboard

Good luck!

EVEN THOUGH THE RESEARCHER DID NOT GET ME MY MANUAL OR EVEN THE
CORRECT MOTHERBOARD: HE/SHE DID POINTME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I
STILL DO NOT HAVE MY MANUAL, I STILL DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THE BUS
SPEED AND MULTIPLIER IN BIOS AND/OR ON THE BOARD, BUT I DO KNOW WHICH
MOTHERBOARD I HAVE. 1 OUT OF 3, WHAT DO YOU THINK?
