Hello Biglou, and thanks for your question.

Clearly, you are in need of the following resource:

Directory of Major Malls, Inc.
P.O. Box 837
Nyack, NY 10960
1-800-898-MALL
http://www.directoryofmajormalls.com/

They have a printed directory (which you may find available in a major
library), a CD (very expensive), as well as on-line access to their
comprehensive information on shopping malls both large and small.

Their site includes a search page where you can enter criteria for the
types of malls you would like listed. You can specify a host of
features: location, square footage, number of parking spaces, sales,
year opened, etc. To give it a try, click on "Run a Free Power
Search" (yes...the search is really free...it's the results you have
to pay for!)

I conducted a preliminary search for malls:

--in the Chicago metropolitan area
--with 100 tenants or more

The results indicated there are 27 malls that meet the criteria I
entered. If you needed a larger list, it would be a simple matter of
searching a larger geographical area, or searching for malls with,
say, 50 (rather than 100) tenants.

The results of the search can be downloaded from the site for a fee,
but therein hangs a tale. None of the lower-priced canned reports
(generally, $.75 per listing, so that a list of 50 malls would cost
$37.50) includes ALL the information you are after. It may be
necessary to purchase several reports to get all the info you want, or
to spring for the premium-priced "full center details" report ($4.00
per listing)to get the whole deal.

Or, you may want to contact the Directory folks directly to see if
they can custom tailor a report for you at an agreeable price.

Some of the reports that may be of interest to you are as follows:

You can also see the details of a sample "full report" by clicking on
it at the site. It includes not only physical and marketing details,
but a list of key contact people, and a list of all the stores at the
mall.

I hope this is the information you were seeking. But if you feel this
answer is incomplete in any way, please tell me through a "Request for
Clarification" before rating my response. Let me know what else you
need, and I'll be more than happy to try and provide it.

site. If you have another idea
let me know.

Just to be sure I understand your follow up question -- do you mean
the full product is too pricey (buying the book or the CD), or
downloading a list is too pricey?

From what I see on the site, they DO have a "per request" charge for
each list you generate, then download. And they charge, generally,
$.75 per shopping mall, so that a list of Top 50 sites would cost
$37.50.

I think you were trying to say you really needed info "on one center".
If that's the case, you should be able to download even a single
report from the site, for either 75 cents, or $4 for the comprehensive
report.

Let me know, with another clarification, what the obstacle is, and
what exactly you're after, and I'll see what I can do for you.
