Hello englishpaulm,

Thanks for your question.

I think your best bet is to have a custom brass sign made, and
searching for exactly that, I found the following selection of vendors
for you:

Around the House
http://www.aroundthehouse.net/signs.htm#twosided

The Sign Shop
http://www.citivu.com/rc/sign_shop/cast2.html#name

SignMedia
http://www.signmediainc.com/

A Sign of Brass

Brass Name
http://www.brassname.com/index.htm

Signs America

Turlock Trophy
http://www.turlocktrophy.com/content/ViewExamples.htm

Sand Blasted Signs
http://www.sandblasted.com/

Custom Home Accessories

As you will seee, designs, quality and prices are very varied at the
sites above, however, you should probably be able to find something
that fits your needs, desires and budget.

Hi Clouseau,

I have seen such a sign before and was hoping someone could find where
to buy it, so I don't have to go through the time and expense of
getting a custom one made. But sigh, if nobody can find where to get
one, maybe I will resort to custom.

Thanks,
Paul

Hello again Paul,

I did a fairly extensive search for flue open, sign, brass and
numerous combinations and could not find a ready made sign for you
listed on the Internet.

Some of the links I provided seem to be very reasonably priced for
custom work. Drilling holes and adding chain to hang your sign would
be a simple process, if that is not offered by the sign manufacturer.

I had hoped this would be a workable solution for you.

I'll search a bit further and post if anything should turn up.

Regards,

Hi Paul,

Searched quite a bit more, but no signs appear. However, the
incredible GA researcher Pinkfreud has noted your question and
suggested the following brass damper pulls for you to consider:

http://northline.site.yahoo.net/5uc-9158.html

Perhaps these will be suitable?

Thanks for your awesome answer, I had initially posted the 4 star
rating probably just as you were posting the new clarification. I
emailed Google to ask if I could change the rating to 5 and send you a
tip, but they said no. :(

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the thought and don't worry about the rating. I'm glad you
are pleased with our research.

Best regards,

Here's another source for an "open/closed" damper puller:

Oops.

When you go to the Taylor Gifts site I linked above, enter 17628 as
the item number to see the damper puller.
