Can you give me any information on Count Montgelas of Bavaria who led
the upper house of Bavarian parliament in 1849-51?

Hello there.  Are you certain of your dates?  There are a number of
prominent Count Montgelas' in Bavarian history, but none that I could
find that into that time frame -- there's an earlier one and a later
one.

This Count Montgelas was the leader of the upper house of the Bavarian
parliament (Reichsrathe)in February 1850.  I would also be interested
to know his relationship to the Coounts of the same name involved with
Kaiser Wilhelm & the one tried at Nuremberg.

Could you be referring to MAXIMILIAN II (1811-1864), grandson of
Maximilian Josef von Montegolas? He was the monarch in control of
Bavaria during the time frame you mentioned. If this is the person you
are referring to I can provide his information to you if you request
it of me.
