I need the obituary of Anny Katherine Auersperg Haupt. She was left
in East Germany when they came to the United States and settled in
Arkansas. Her parents were Father: William Auersperg of Hazen, AR
DOD 3/2/59, Mother Rosa Freida Auersperg of Hazen DOD 4/20/53,
Brothers all of Hazen, Karl DOD 1979, Fritz DOD 11/6/71, John, DOD
7/20/93. She has two living sisters, Dr. Rose Auersperg Berry of
Little Rock, AR and Etta Auersperg Doss or Hazen, AR. I certainly
need her date of death and if she left any survivors. In her Father's
obituary she was listed as living in Germany. My Father thought she
was in East Germany.

Dear rober72757,

In order to help you, we really need more information. Such as:

- Do you have any place names? Where did the Auerspergs come from?
This is vital - without this information, searching might be futile.

- When did the Auerspergs come to the USA? This is indeed important:
In case they came there prior to WWII, "East Germany" still meant
something else than today. It was a term for regions that belong to
Russia and Poland now, while today "East Germany" means the former
German Democratic Republic.

- Is the spelling of Anny Katherine's name for sure? "Anny" is
extremely uncommon as a German given name.

- Does the "Auersperg-Haupt" indicate she married one Haupt? If so,
did she really carry the double-name or was her surname changed to
only "Haupt", as it was more common in Germany for a long time?

Please let me know.

Best regards,
Scriptor

Dear Scriptor,

I have no place names. Her father's obituary listed her living in
Germany. My Father who knows the family felt as if it was east
Germany and yes her parents and oldest two brothers, Karl and John,
traveled from Germany to Little Rock, AR, then moved to the Hazen Area
where they were farmers. Her brother Fritz and sisters Etta and Rose,
where all born after they traveled from Germany. My father thought
where she lived was close to a border region. Anny (I looked at the
obituary which appeared in the Hazen Herald of Hazen, AR) was the
spelling given. Her maiden name was Auersperg, her married name was
Haupt. I do not have her husbands first name or date of marriage.
She did visit the United States one time to see her sister Etta
Auersperg Doss who lives on the family farm at Hazen.

Dear Scriptor,

In regards to the spelling of her name, it could be Anna, according to
a family friend. It was listed as Anny in the obituary, but could
have very well be a typographical error.

Dear rober72757,

I will try my very best and use my contacts in Germany. But, alas, I
can't promise anything yet.

Dear Scriptor,

I would think this death occoured after 1992.

Dear rober72757,

Answering your question proved impossible. All the names are much too
common in Germany to effectively locate a single person. The lack of a
place name to refer to makes it even worse.

I am very sorry.
