My research revealed that the following services are regarded as the
best, regardless of geography:

WorldSubmitter offers both pay and free versions. You can submit your
site to search engines, link pages, classified ads and message boards.
Free members have to submit their site one at a time and put up with
pop-up ads and spam mail.

BCentral also offers a pay to submit service. You can subscribe to
bCentral and use the service and get some other benefits as well. The
service includes "Submit It" (the submission service), Link Exchange
(5,000 banners/ month) and Email Marketing. There are also some other
features as well.

I Need Hits offers both a free and premium pay service.

At "Internet Alley" you can pay to submit your site to over 60,000
search engines. This includes a submission to Yahoo.

Passing comment, it's quality not quantity that counts.

The major search engines can almost be counted on both hands,
these are the ones that really drive traffic. Google, Alta Vista,
AlltheWeb, Yahoo, Inktomi, Looksmart, Lycos, Open Directory, MSN,
Netscape, AOL, Ask Jeeves, Overture and a few others.

Increasingly automatic submission do not work for these major search
engines, who use a alphanumeric code which needs to be input by hand
manually. Also they are charging. Only a handful remain free.

Low quality search engines will not drive much traffic. In my humble
opinion it's best to concentrate on the major search engines.
