Asking on behalf of a friend, who does not believe the power of Google
Answers!
Friend caused some damage to a co-worker's car. After dark in the
company parking lot he reversed and turned out of his spot and hit the
co-worker's car. His badass front fender caught the inside edge of a
rear wheel arch and put two or three ~inch size dents in the metal
edged wheel arch. The angle of his reversing was such that the fender
did not touch the side of the car between the two wheel arches, but as
he turned while reversing the end of the fender moved in towards the
rear wheel and then "knicked" the arch as it "left" the arch space by
the wheel. Thus the damage is three ~inch sized notches in the rim of
the arch.
Friend informed security guard, left co-worker note 'fessing up
(couldn't find him in person) and next day offered to make good
damage. Friend kind of assumed co-worker would decline polite offer,
especially as car is black (damage hard to see) and maybe six years
old generic Honda-type vehicle. Co-worker did not decline (friend now
wishes he'd done a runner!) and got a quote from a collision center
for $1000 for the repair. Co-worker also says repair will take 3-4
days and so he will now need a rental for that time. Friend now
wishes he'd not been so nice and had instead done a runner!
So the question is - can you recommend a cheap dent repair shop,
preferably in or close to the 92121 zip code, who will do an OK job
for less? Personal recommendations welcome. |

Kutsavi!
I was hoping you'd see this! I'm sorry I didn't get to this over the
w/e.
Specifics on auto question - car owner lives in Rancho Pen., works in
Golden Triangle I guess (close to Pfizer campus on Science Center
Drive). Sorrento Valley is close to work. One issue is obviously the
fact that the guy apparently only has one car, but will still have to
get around during the repair.
Pasadena - my hire is on hold while the company raises VC, which has
been slowed by Iraq fears etc.. My instinct is that it probably will
happen, but in a couple of months perhaps. I am actually leaning
towards initially travelling business class on Amtrak twice a week and
hotelling in Pasadena say 2-3 nights a week (this is something I might
be asking for more reseach on). Then I will certainly look into the
more exotic options.
Meanwhile my current job certainly keeps me busy enough!
Again, great to hear from you.
