Dear Sir / Madam,

An ancestor George Newton was Lord Mayor of Dublin in the early
1800's, could you tell me where I would be able to verify this in
Dublin, Thank You.

Dear salmon,

I am afraid that there was no Mayor or Lord Mayor of Dublin by the
name of George Newton. Please have a look at this complete list of all
Dublin Mayors and Lord Mayors from 1229 to 1924:
http://www.loughman.dna.ie/dublin/lordmayor.html

I do not dare give you this as an answer since it is not what you
expected and you surely will be dissapointed. But I hope it provides
you useful information.

Best regards,
Scriptor
