“In 1998 The Friends funded the conversion of 20 rooms at Oakland
Lodge, located on the grounds of the Hospital. These facilities are
exclusively for the use of patients and their spouses who have
travelled long distances to attend St Luke's. This allows patients to
maintain their independence during the course of their treatment.
Such was the success of Oakland Lodge in 2000 we extended it by a
further 10 rooms. We are also contributing €250,000 a year to The
Hospital for Patient research. You can see therefore that we are
always happy to receive help by way of donation, covenant, organized
event, or whatever.”
