Hello ,
Thank you for your question.
Upon first search, I found only two images of your father's as
follows:

August 1927
Tunnel vision: The city excavates Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village
to put in a new subway line. New Yorks subway system launched in 1904
with the IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit)it ran from the Brooklyn
Bridge to Grand Central Terminal, west to Times Square and north to
West 145th Streetbut took off in the thirties when the Sixth Avenue
and Eighth Avenue lines were added.

Shape up to ship out: The USS Kearsarge, a 27,000-ton aircraft
carrier, launches from the Brooklyn Navy Yard. To finish the war in
the Pacific, workers kept churning out warships even as the tide
turned in Europe. Another aircraft carrier had just been launched the
week before.

However, at:
http://www.dailynewspix.com/history.htm
The NY Daily News Photo Archives I searched using their advanced tools
and added photographer = mccory
I found 89 images, and although some list only McCory as the
photographer, some are undoubtedly your father's aerial work and some
list his full name. And what's more, these images can be purchased!!

You may need to re-enter my search criteria for this to display your
dad's images.
Checking one image, I found and 8x10 print is available for $35 and an
11x14 for $60. Other images had similar pricing.
There is some wonderful work to be viewed here and I hope this is the
information you were seeking and you will enjoy this tour of your
dad's work. I know I did.
Search Strategy:
herbert OR herb +Mccory +photo
NY OR "New York" +"daily news" +photographers
If a link above should fail to work or anything require further
