How complex is the relationship between fund families and brokers / distributors from an operational perspective? How much does it cost to manage the transactions between the two (e.g., in terms of money transfer, settlement, etc.) Is this cost already considered in the distribution fee? Or is the cost split 50/50 between distributor and manufacturer? How is this different for fund supermarkets (e.g., Schwab). I'd really like to know about the necessary operational costs to "manage" fund transactions. |
