what is the best article written on the hackers' attack on the RIAA
website? I am trying to figure out when the RIAA took down its
website, and also to gain access to the year end 2002 CD shipments
data.

joro...

"Best article" is a vague term which leaves too much doubt in providing
an excellent answer, and RIAA has been up and down several times in the
past 6 months. Do you want the latest article about the latest attack?
And can you be more specific about the CD shipments to which you refer?

thanks for the response. clarification: I am trying to figure out on
which days and how often the RIAA website has been down since it was
first attacked in late August 2002. if the website was down for 3
weeks, up for a few months, then down another few weeks, then up for
two days... I would like to know those dates. (in order that I am
able to comment on the duration of the fight between the hackers and
the RIAA. I am trying to make a statement that says something like
"since the RIAA's website was first attacked on August 27th, hackers
have rendered the RIAA's website inoperable no fewer than 8 times.
Since August 27th, the website has been shut down 158 days, while only
being operable 22 days.

secondly, I am attempting to access information that is normally
posted on that website. that information comes out every 6 months or
so, usually in August and February. the information details the
growth/decline in CD shipments for the music industry. In February,
the information would detail the percentage to which CD shipments
declined for full year 2002.

thanks,
JoRo
