Wanted! An old fashioned cabinet Mayfair duck egg incubator. Should
take up to 400 duck eggs at a go.

It's for use in Cornwall, UK, so transport costs may be relevant.

Is any incubator ok to list? There's a great wealth of information
about commercial incubators as well prices and quotes. The amount of
information on Mayfair incubators is almost nil. "mayfair egg
incubator" comes up with one relavant link to a person looking for a
secondhand Mayfair incubator much like you are. Please respond so I
can better tailor a response. Thanks!

Though an item is not available currently in auction or on the web,
you can still find it when it becomes available, without having to
search for it everyday.

At the auction site eBay, there is a service called "Favorite
Searches". You need to be a member to use this service. Once logged in
as member under the Favorites Tab, there is a listing for Favorite
Searches. Add your Mayfair duck egg incubator to this list and check
the box to email you of new listings which fit that search. I use this
when searching out hard to find collector's items.

Yahoo has the same system setup. Again, you need to sign up for an
account, its free, and very little hassle. Login at the Auction sites
and go under My Auctions. There you will find a Option on the Right
side menu for "My Alerts". This allows you to setup a search and they
will email you if an item fits your search.

These methods will search the auctions once a day, and send you an
email if they find something. Its a good way to find the rare items.

Since both of these auction sites are rather large, they do have the
ability to find items that are local to a country or an area. So you
can limit your search if you believe shipping from the USA or Canada
would be a factor. Since your item is hard enough to find I would keep
the search as global as possible and check the shipping when its
found.

Also I would suggest that you setup a couple of searches, with these
keywords:
Mayfair duck egg incubator
duck egg incubator
Mayfair incubator

The searches pull from the titles of the items and its been my
experience that people call items all sorts of things.

If you need more information on this question, please don't hesitate
to let me know.

Question Clarification for Skermit-ga.

The Mayfair cabinet model was designed specifically for water fowl.
They were forced air (fan assisted) with automatic or semi-automatic
turning.

I don't think the exact model is so important as long as it does the
job (hatches indian runner duck eggs)and takes quite a lot in one go.
The main obstacle is price. A modern, new equivalent that takes 400
eggs (this is on the wish list) would cost over £1,200.

Thanks to webadept-ga for the auction advice, but I already knew that.

Are these more in the price range you are looking at? They seem to
have everything else you require, and are designed for water fowl.

I really wanted the Mayfair, but perhaps there aren't any for sale.
The web site for new incubators looks good, but as noted, shipping
costs to Cornwall, UK may be relevant (from a NA site and the item
weighs 95lbs). Thanks for trying.

None listed. ABincubators.co.uk may do something that has replaced it.
Have you tried The Smallholder magazine for a second hand one?
Good Luck.
