Considering light trucks (not the big Class VIII 18-wheelers, but
panel vans, step vans, Econoline vans, bigger trucks like the kind
that deliver furniture, etc.) in the USA: what is the percentage
breakdown of the uses to which they are put, by type of business?
E.g. 20% used by contractors, 20% by florists, 15% by furniture
stores, 10% for mail delivery, etc. The more detail the better! NOT
interested in personal use (so if a minivan is used by a florist, that
would be in scope; if used by a family, not in scope), only commercial
use. Not interested in off-road usage (like a truck hauling ore from
a mine pit) or in highly-specialized vehicles like dump trucks or
firetrucks. Just plain ol' Class III, IV, V, etc. trucks. I have
seen a split by fleet size (under 5 trucks, 5-50, etc.) and by
ownership (private, state, utilities) but never by what they are used
for.
