I am having an problem trying to add an additional Domino server. I
currently have one Domino server and I am trying to add another one.
During the configuration of the new server, when trying to copy the
adress book from the old server, I get the error message "Server error
- You are not authorised to use the server" and immediately afterwards
the error message "Notes error - You are not authorised to use the
server". These errors occur when the percent bar reaches 20%.

When I check the Notes log on the existing server, I see following
error message:
2003.02.25 13:57:24 Opened session for (new server) (Release 5)

2003.02.25 13:57:24 ATTEMPT TO ACCESS SERVER by (new server) was
denied

2003.02.25 13:57:24 Closed session for (new server)

Databases accessed: 0 Documents read: 0 Documents written: 0

I substituted the server name by (new server) in this error message.

I checked the server access in the existing server's server document,
everyone cann access the server. I checked the ACL for names.nsf and
for several other databases, the new server has access in all of them.

I tried installing the new server on Win98 and the same problem
occured (I am installing it on Win 2000), I tried two different
versions of Domino - 5.0.9 and 5.0.11.

I tried removing the new server from LocalDomainServers group and
adding it to a Person group, it did not help.

Might there be something that I have missed? What could be causing
this problem?

My guess is the ID file for the server doesn't match the server's
entry in in the NAB. In any case, suggest reading the doc carefully
on adding a server to a existing domain. Also do searches on
http://notes.net and http://www.support.lotus.com in hopes of finding
clues.

Good luck, F.
