I want to send out an email to a group but I would like to either be
able to see where they forward it or watermark each one so that it
identifies who I sent it to originally. I am trying to discourage
people receiving my email from forwarding them.

There is an internet-based service available that allows you to track
each individual email you send, verify that is it received and opened,
and track whether the email has been forwarded or posted on a website,
and if so, where it has been forwarded to or posted to. The service
also allows emails to be retracted even after they have been sent.

It is a subscription service with an annual fee, but you can give it a
test run at no charge.

Shall I post the details of this as an answer to your question?

I am familiar with ReadNotify. I would be interested in any reviews
about how well it worked or any other competing services that do
similar functions. What I am really after (and would be willing to pay
extra for) would be a service that watermarks the individual emails
when mailing to a group.

The service I had in mind is described in detail here:

There's a lot about certifying individual emails, but I'm not sure
this is the same as what you need re: watermarks. Why not have a look
and let me know if this suits your needs or not.

What I mean by watermark is to apply some sort of marking (or the
persons name) to the email anytime the email that I send is forwarded.
