Hello dluver-ga
The universitys own Web pages dont reflect their budget, finance,
funding or endowment information. Digging further, I was able to get
some fairly current information. Its clear that the university has
been suffering, along with other State educational institutions. I
found some articles in the general press that addressed these
problems. In a Januar 2002 article I found the information youre
looking for. In fiscal year 2002 the State funded 51% of NMSUs budget
while student tuition paid almost 40% and the remaining roughly 10%
comes from donations and other dedicated funding sources. You can look
up the schools Web page to see what are these sources. The reports
from the State of Missouri budget show that funding was cut for Fiscal
year 2003 and consequently tuition was raised. It sounds like the
school is operating under very tough fiscal conditions.
Good luck with your project.

Missouri, Kansas colleges facing stiff tuition increases
The Kansas City Star
Shrinking state support rankles Ray Courter, vice president for
finance and support services at Northwest Missouri State University.
In 1984-85, the state of Missouri paid for about 72 percent of
Northwest's budget, he said, but this year it is paying for about 51
percent. Students' tuition payments now cover almost 40 percent of the
budget, and about 10 percent comes from other sources such as
donations, Courter said. Courter expects the state to cover less than
50 percent of the cost of running Northwest in the next school year.

Cuts loom over state's regional colleges

In 1985, the state paid 70 percent of the school's costs while tuition
made up 28 percent. Today, state money only makes up half of the
budget, with increased tuition bridging the difference.
