I am creating one user profile on XP that will be OK for all my users on a OU. I want all users to get the same profile when they login. Don't want to use Roaming Profiles. How can I have all users on that PC keeping the same profile including printers, Icons, applications etc. I want to be able to build an image out of this PC and use it on all my new PCs for all users at the office. Also want to be able to set GPOs to control access to that profile. CAN ANYBODY HELP |

Whats OU, and GPO? If you use A Domain controller(Windows Server or the alternative Linux server running Samba) you can have XP clients logging in authenticated, restore network printers and drive mappings as well as run custom startup scripts. Any user logging in can also have a network directory associated with their profile(great for central file storage and backup). If you go with Local profiles, there is nothing that can be "gotten" outside of netlogon scripts initiated by logging into a domain controller. The program Ghost is very useful for imageing a harddrive. |
