I am looking for an 8 port version of this switch that DOES NOT HAVE a
1000 MB interface. The version that does (Product #: 3C16477-US)
costs over $600. Additionally, the 1000 MB interfaces are not
necessary for my application.

If you could provide a link to a version of this product, I would
appreciate.

Hello Jr1734,

In looking at the product description, this is an 8 port unmanaged
switch that can handle up to 8 Gigabit ethernet interfaces (as well as
10/100). That is why the price is so high.

If you want an 8 port unmanaged 10/100 switch, you can get one from
other vendors for a price of about $50-$100. If you want an 8 port
managed 10/100 switch, you can get one for $250 to $600. Are you
willing to consider other vendors and if so, which alternative do you
want to have explained? Also indicate if a rack mount unit is required
- the unmanaged 8 port switch I use is about the size of my hand.

Dear jr1734,
3Com doesn't list a non-1000mb 8 port model, so unless it has been
discontinued it may not currently exist. But take a look at the 16
port 10/100) version, it's half the price of the 1000mb 8-port switch.
Good luck!
