Hi! Thanks for the question.

The racist perspective of evolution has been a topic of debate for
ages. What I am about to present here are the cases for the argument
that the theory of evolution perpetuate racism. As always these ideas
are open to debates.

I will try to provide small snippets from the articles I will cite but
I highly recommend that you read them in their entirety to gain a
better perspective.

One aspect, which perpetuates racism in evolution, is the theory of us
being developed from different primates thereby having different forms
of intelligence.

“Klaatsch, a prominent German evolutionist, concluded that human races
differ not only because of survival factors, but also for the reason
that they polyphyletically evolved from different primates. The blacks
came from the gorillas, the whites from the chimpanzees, and the
Orientals from the orangutans, and it is for this reason that some
races are superior. He concluded27 that ‘the gorilla and the
Neanderthal man" have a close biological affinity to "a large number
of the living African blacks . . .’

“The missing link wasn't missing but, many evolutionists of the time
concluded, lived in Australia and other faroffplaces.”

Even the complete title of the “Origin of Species” shows causes of
racists thinking according to the author.

“The complete title of Darwin's most famous work, often abbreviated to
The Origin of Species, was The Origin. of Species by Means of Natural
Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for
Life.”

Such theory according to the author became a case of social policy as
well in the US during the early 20th century,

“Numerous 'scientific' studies concluded that miscenegation offspring
tended to have more of the negative traits of Blacks such as
inferiority in mental capacity, than the positive traits of Whites.91
One massive American study by a Princeton psychology professor and the
chairman of the National Research Council concluded:”

In this article it was mentioned that the most prominent evolutionists
even Darwin himself were primarily racists.

The racist effects of Darwinism could be seen from the following
examples.

a. Treatment of different cultures.

“An excellent example of the effects of Darwinism on racism is when
African explorer Samuel Verner arrived at the 1904 St. Louis World’s
Fair with seven African Pygmies. (A Pygmy is a person belonging to
any of several African tribes who is a dwarf.) These men (called
“primitive savages”) were exhibited under the direction of W. J. McGee
of the St. Louis World’s Fair Anthropology Department in an effort to
“be exhaustively scientific” in demonstrating the stages of human
evolution. While on exhibit they were “treated with laughter and
stares.” After the Fair they were returned to Africa. “

b. Nazism

“Indeed, a heavy Darwinist influence can be seen in all the Nazi
ideologues. When this theory, which was given form by Hitler and
Alfred Rosenburg is examined, one sees concepts such as 'natural
selection,' 'selective mating,' and 'the struggle for survival between
the races,' which are repeated dozens of times in Darwin's The Origin
of Species. The name of Hitler's book Mein Kampf was inspired by
Darwin's principle that life was a constant struggle for survival, and
those who emerged victorious survived.”

Hi
You have raised a good question, for further insights i would advice
you to read work of Garrod on Eugenics and how they were practised.
The recent study in Genomics that our ancestors have infact descended
from Africa is a prelude for a racist theory to emerge, which is very
much not so welcoming sociologically.
