Subject: Leading retail websites in the CZECH REPUBLIC 1. I need a list of at least five leading non-food retail websites in the CZECH REPUBLIC. By "leading" I mean "leading". There is no strict criteria since revenues etc are often not known, so use common sense. It's often obvious from the site whether they are a contender or not. They must be B2C sites (so not Ebay, not clasifieds, not shopping comparison sites, although the latter can lead you to appropriate sites). They must TRANSACT ONLINE (ie not a site that shows products but doesnt let you buy). The top sites may be foreign (Amazon is the best example) but I dont just want a list of US sites. - URLs - Comments. A one or two sentence salient summary of relevant points about the retailer (more than the site). For example "El Corte Ingles is Spain's top retailer both online and offline. The department store was an early mover online and has never relinquished its number one slot". Or "Amazon.com does not have a specific Spanish site but attracts 150,000 Spanish visitors a month to the US site". This is also a good place to say why this is a leading site and to highlight online revenues and/or number of online customers for the retailer. 2. I also need a list of the five leading FOOD retail websites. - URLs - Comments, as above. If as you are searching, you come across any additional data on the monetary size of online shopping in the country, online population, etc etc, please post as additional URLs with no need for explanation. If you come across any other retail sites not worth commenting on, please paste the URL in with no need for explanation. Thank you webuserid |

Hi, I'm new here and don't understand at the moment, why I can only add comment and not an answer. I had a long exposure in Czech e-commerc, and still bein aware of all the main players, I feel I could help you easily with all the data you need. |

btw. there is a document with some relevant stores, though it might be too much for you, and not all of them are top in terms of revenue http://www.apek.cz/apek/apek.nsf/ed/Certifikanti?OpenDocument also, there was a study by Deloitte & Touche, few years ago, 2000?, freely available, maybe even in english, from their website (not sure if still available) which had some data. though it was not good study in my opinion, there was still some useful data and a list of few relevant companies |

tomd_cz-ga Hi, the list is very interesting, although I am also trying to get a feeling for which site is most visited and where people tend to go to. It would be great if you could some how rank them so that I can check them. Also I am trying to identify websites that sell grocery online. Thnaks, webuserid |

The previous comment was only additional one to a more extensive one - Google unfortunately deleted it, because it contained my email address. So here I rewrite it again shortly. Since it is for free I can't spend hours on extensive research, but here is some short info you might find useful. Of course it depends what for are you looking for such a data, if you wanna sell thru them, buy them, advertise there - probably different list will be for different purpose. Not of them are probably purely internet players. etc.etc. hopefully you understand what I am trying to say. Also, where most people go, and where they spend most bucks, might be quite different list each time. So here is a general list out of my memory. Vltava.cz -books Internetshops.cz - conglomerate of specialized stores including Vltava.cz general stores:shopcenter.cz, korunka.cz, patro.cz, kvanto.cz bile-zbozi.cz - "white goods", ie. refrigerators etc. Groceries? I think only multimarket.cz is worth mentioning. It is generally very nich market with probably some other little players, maybe nakupdodomu.cz There was a study conducted in 2000? last time by deloitte touche, it had some useful data, probably might be still downloadable somewhere. Though, lots of data were bad, like they said fractal.cz is the largest ecommerce player here, selling airline tickets - insiders know numbers are largely understated etc... Simply the study was not exactly objective.... And here is a link to a "toplist" site with ranking according to visitors per day, of course not comprehensive, but might give further clue... http://www.toplist.cz/cgi-bin/toplist.asp?kat=27 Again what I said above, by making such a list, the most important is to know what for it will be used... Greetings, Tomas |

tomd_cz-ga this is very good information and especially the list with the visitors. Btw, this is not for free. As you can see I offered $30 for a good answer. Thanks, webuserid |
