I would like to be able to see on the Internet a listing of everyday
the
US dollar and Mexican Peso exchange rate. I know that even in a day
the rate can vary, but I can handle that.

Mind you, this is for everyday of 2002.

Hi again pendleton!

The Bank of Canada has an easy to use Historical Currency Converter
(1990-present):
http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/exchange-convert.htm

You'll just need to set:

FROM THIS / TO THIS
SPECIFIC DATE / RANGE OF DATES
SORT RESULTS BY: Date / Value
SUMMARY (HIGH/LOW/AVERAGE): Show

Hit "Click" and you're all set.

The 365 day list is quite long to post here, but here are the
averages:

MXP 1 in US dollars converted to: Mexican new pesos Summary
Low 02 Apr 2002: 9.00 / High 31 Dec 2002: 10.41
Average 01 Jan 2002 - 31 Dec 2002: 9.66

HOW DO I GET THIS DATA INTO MY SPREADSHEET PROGRAM?
http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/csv.htm

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please post a
clarification before rating my answer.

Thank you,
hummer

Hi again pendleton,

Just a note to say that if you have any trouble viewing the data
online or if for any other reason you would like the 365 day list
posted here, just let me know and I'll do that for you, no problem.

By the way, I would love to hear if you got everything straightened
out with your magazine subscription - are you receiving them yet??

Hummer-- Maybe I did not do it right, but I think I got the exchange
for the Canadian dollar.

Could walk me through on how to find the US dollar and Mex. peso
exchange for
March 12, 2002? If I can see that done, I can do all the rest.

PS-- The magazine came just the other day.

Ok John, here we go -

http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/exchange-convert.htm

We'll start at the top of the page and work our way down -

1. Tick off the following:
DISPLAY RESULTS IN: HTML
SORT RESULTS BY: Date
SUMMARY (HIGH/LOW/AVERAGE): Show

2. AMOUNT TO CONVERT: 1

3. In the "From This" column (round box):
Tick off "U.S. dollar (close)"

3. In the "To This" column (square box):
Scroll down to "Mexican New Pesos" and tick off.

(you can do this the other way around if you want to: From Pesos to
US$)

4. SPECIFIC DATE / RANGE OF DATES: In the drop-down menu, choose:

Start (or single date): January 1 2002
End: December 31 2002

5. Press the "Click" button which is directly under the dates you just
set.

You should now have your list - to double-check, here is March 12:
12 Mar 2002: 9.0744

John, if you have any trouble at all, just let me know and I'll post
the list for you here.

Glad to hear all went well with the magazine -

hummer -- Great job! Thanks for walking me through once. Now I am set
for life, well just about. Can you believe I live in Mexico and we
couldn't find a table on our bank's web site?

So a Canadian Bank does it!!!

I bless you in Jesus' name to know and do God's will!
John P.

Adios.

Dear John,

Thank you for the fine rating and kind words - I'm happy I was able to
help. I should've mentioned earlier that there are other sites with
currency converters but I like the Bank of Canada site because it is
non-commercial - no annoying pop-up ads! If you'd like to have a look
at some others, do a search on Google like this:

"currency converter":
://www.google.ca/search?as_q=&num=100&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=currency+converter&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=images

I think you'll agree that the Canadian site is quite nice and
relatively easy to use.

Well, take care - thanks for using Google Answers.
