Question ID: 167492
Is there a website with an audio/video clip of the memorable "Time to
Die" scene at the end of "Blade Runner"?

An audio file of the scene would certainly be helpful. Do you have
the website for it?

The BR clips with the extension *.wmv do not seem to be working
through Windows Media Player. Is there another program I should use?

Thanks,
Owl Prowl

Dear owl_prowl-ga

I have found one visual and two audio clips.

To open them you need Zip file compression software. If you do not
have one on your computer, you can download one for free at
http://www.winzip.com/ddchomea.htm

The visual file requires a DIVX player to be installed. If your
present media player cannot play the clip you can download a free DIVX
player at the below site. Click on download of the free version at 3.0
mb. After installation you will be able to view the file.
http://www.divx.com/divx

There is additional guidance on the Blade Runner fan site if you have
problems.

List of clips near the bottom of the page.
Direct link is http://www.blade-runner.it/multimedia/tears-eng.zip
The file is AVI-MPG4, 4.12MB and will take at least 22mins on a 64k
modem to download. You can also download fonts, desktops and
screensaver from this page.

Audio file with several scenes from Blade Runner at
http://www.wavcentral.com/movies/blade_runner.html

Also at http://www.sciflicks.com/blade_runner/sounds.html

I hope this helps you and you enjoy these clips of a classic SF film.

All I've been able to find is an audio file. I hope another Researcher
can find a video clip for you. I love that scene.

While I was searching for video clips, I came across this interesting
bit of information:

"The death monologue of Roy Batty. His legendary last words: "All
those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."
This line was actually improvised by the actor Rutger Hauer."

This isn't what you need, but if you're a fan of "Blade Runner," you
may find it interesting. Here's a 6.5 minute collection of re-edited
BR clips with a soundtrack of Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine":
