Is anyone aware of a recall or problem with the Lexus 300RX 2002
regarding burning oil and smoking exhaust when first started after the
car is cold. I believe it is from faulty valve stems but I was
wondering if anyone else has had the problem or if there is a generic
problem with the 300 series V6 engine?

Hi grullman,

You may indeed be suffering from a faluty valve stem, but if so, it's
not a recall issue for that model. You can see all the service
bulletins/recalls for that vehicle here:
