Hi happyrob1234, Thanks for an entertaining question. The answer would be "queue". Taking away the "ueue", the Q remains. The same question was asked at the 'Mad Science Nation' website: "9. What five letter English word does not change its pronunciation when four letters are taken away?" http://www.mad.scientist.org/fun/puzzles92901.html The answer can be found here: http://www.mad.scientist.org/fun/puzzles92901_a.html Search words used: five letter english word pronounced same last four letters removed I hope this was helpful. If you have any questions regarding my answer, please don't hesitate to ask before rating. Best regards, rainbow-ga |

I may be mistaken but if only one letter is removed from the end of queue, its pronunciation does not change. If one letter is removed from queu, its pronunciation remains unchanged. If one letter is removed... |
