Hi there, I am interesting in purchasing wholesale electric guitars for resale (and other purposes) from manufacturers such as "Johnson" and "Galveston" guitars. I have researched these 2 companies above and I cannot seem to find any sort of resource for contacting them to setup a business resale account. I have a Tax ID and a legal business formed in Connecticut, but I'm unsure how to get started with locating and contacting electric guitar manufacturers, such as the ones above. I set the Google "Price" for this question at minimum for just $2.00, but I will "tip" any researcher $20.00 if you can help me with this question. Although it's Google that provides the forum to make this possible, I feel it's the researcher who deserves the real benefit. Thanks for your time, Justin |

Hello influential, Thank you for your question. Having been in the musical instrument business, I can tell you that guitars are normally sold to dealers through distributors or independent manufacturers representatives in your area. Occasionally, they are sold factory direct to either the end user or directly to the dealer. These two, however seem to be exceptions. Galveston: This page notes the manufacturer: http://www.12stringbass.com/galveston_reviews.htm "...SilverStar is the manufacturer of the Galveston brand. They're a Korean OEM manufacturer (make stuff other people then slap their brand names one.) The parent company is actually called Un-Sung Musical Instruments. I bought my Galveston 12ver directly from the wholesaler that has them made after I tracked them down via my industry contacts with importers and NAMM...." Searching further with this information I found: SilverStar Home Page: http://www.unsung.co.kr/ I could find no Us distributor nor rep for these instruments. It is possible that they will sell direct to you, or will provide you with the name and contact information for their US distributor/importer if you email them from their contact page: webmaster@unsung.co.kr They also seem to have an online order form. Johnson Guitars: Home Page: http://www.mjguitar.com/ MJ Guitar Engineering 643 Martin Ave. #2 Rohnert Park, CA 94928 (707) 588-8075 I also could not find a distributor or rep for these guitars, so I called them. I spoke to Deirdre Johnson who says the sell "mostly" direct. They have had dealers in the past, but it did not work out. They might entertain the idea again. She is the best contact. BUT, she also mentioned there is another Johnson Guitar company that is hard to locate that might be the Johnson Guitar you are seeking. This was a tough one to find, but it turns out it is a brand sold by The Music Link! http://www.themusiclink.net/ Although their contact infomation is not listed on their page, they are in South San Francisco and can be reached at 888-552-5465 or mailto:feedback@themusiclink.net . They sell wholesale to qualified dealers. Search Strategy: Galveston +guitar Un-Sung Musical Instruments Johnson Guitar forends in the industry! I trust my research has provided you with the contacts you require. If a link above should fail to work or anything require further explanation or research, please do post a Request for Clarification prior to rating the answer and closing the question and I will be pleased to assist further.
