What is the market size (in dollars) for decision-making and/or
problem-solving (software) tools and/or services?

Clarification of Question by alex100-ga on 02 Mar 2003 09:33 PST
Mangement consulting services are excluded from this market estimate.
I am only looking for market size and projections for decision-making
software tools. e.g. Monte-Carlo simulation, decision tree and other
tools that help managers analyze a problem and arrive at a decision.
Market for decision-making and/or problem solving training is also of
iterest, e.g. cources that teach managers, military officer, others in
leadership positions howto use such tools or how to use intuition to
arrive at quick decisions in complex situations.

Hi alex100-ga! Would Logistics Management Software be the types you
are looking for. They also help in the planning and decision making
process of managers. If this is the market you are after then I have
some figures. Here is a description of this software market segment:

"The Logistics Management software market is composed of Warehouse
Management (WMS), Transportation Management (TMS), and Supply Chain
Process Management (SCPM) solutions."

Just let me know. :)

Good question and very good price, but you still
might want to bound it a little. Problem solving
services could include Management Consulting,
a field which in itself is hard to segregate and
estimate its size. You might want to provide examples
of the types of software products, what they do,
what other functionalities you are interested in
and then also expand on your definition of the
service firms. I can think of 5 entire markets that
could get thrown in. I am not a researcher, just
trying to help you get your answer for your money.
Good luck.

Thanks, and to better get your question answered, you
might want to be more explicit as you just were, like

Sorry, they cut me off some how:
Monte Carlo software - example Crystal Ball..
etc.
good luck, and i am sure there are
dozens of researchers wanting to take
your money. Need to use GA carefully,
I have been happy and unhappy, but also
recognize that I need to be specific. Sometimes
they can't do it, other times it just requires more
money. My guess is yours just needs to me
better structured.

"The User Demand Handbook for CRM, E-Commerce, ERP, Procurement and
Supply Chain Management" from Gartner probably gives you the answer.
However, it is from last year, and the research article costs US$2500.
