I'm running Win2k. Can you find me a program that can automatically convert all my mp3 files into 64kb/sec Ogg format? (I'm told this makes more efficient use of space.) I'd want to be able to just give it the name of the directory holding all 6 GB of my music and leave it runnning overnight. It'd need to be smart enough to delete the mp3s as it went, to avoid using up all the space on my hard drive. |

Keep in mind that since mp3 and ogg are both lossy formats, 64kb/sec oggs converted from old mp3s won't be as good as 64kb/sec oggs converted directly from wav or an audio CD. I probably originally read this on Slashdot, but here are some references I found by searching Google for 'convert mp3 to ogg losslessly': http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/200206/0113.html http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/200212/0020.html |
