James M. Guffey (1839-1930) was a wildcatter in the early 1900's and
helped fund the discovery of oil in Beaumont, TX. According to "The
Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power"  by Daniel Yergin he
lived on Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh until his death.
