I'm trying to find a list of reasonably common jobs in which it's
possible to earn a high salary while working part time. Specifically,
jobs in which:
1) the average hourly pay is above $60
2) at least 12,000 people hold this job title in the U.S.
3) it is reasonable to work less than 30 hours per week, and, even if
you do so, you'll still probably make more than $60 per hour

You don't have to come up with a complete list, just make a good stab
at it. I'm not sure how many jobs there are that fit these criteria.
If you find dozens, just go with the most common ones.

You don't have to follow those three points I outlined exactly. I'm
just trying to get a general idea of what sorts of jobs you can make a
high income at without working very many hours.

Hi gremlin-ga! Would you accept rates for telecommuting jobs?
Furthermore the resource I found does not say how many in the US has
this career or the number of hours you have to work to achieve such an
income. My answer would comprise only of one link but would cover
different job types that is applicable for telecommuting.

Would this be accepted as an answer? Just let me know. :)

Hi! Thanks again for the question and for accepting my proposal for an
answer.

Here is the link to the rates of telecommuting jobs from About.com.
These jobs are those you can do at your home so working times are
really flexible.

I'd review Google's pricing policy, and since I am
not a researcher, and coincidently you hit my
part time job rate on the nose, I figure I will answer.

Many jobs in this area are variants of Sales or Business
Development, and enable people to reduce their hours
and obtain high incomes, these positions rarely have
base salaries that high. Most of their income is at risk.
Some titles may be:
Account Manager, Sales executive, Sales, Marketing,
Business Development, New Business, Account Leader
There are literally dozens of variations, but focus on the
same thing - bringing home the bacon.

Other more senior level positions, for those of us not
interested in performing a sales dance could be:
Legal Consultant
Strategy Consultant (my part time job)
Management Consultant
Business Broker
Financial Advisor
M&A Specialist.

The key problem with your question is that most
activities can be morphed into being an independent,
and thus reducing your own time commitment.
Your ability to exceed your income target of
60 per hour depends on your skill and market.
Good luck on your list.

Gremlin,

A consultant of any professional discipline would qualify. However,
in order to be able to be a successful professional consultant, one
would need to have a solid professional education (in law,
engineering, medicine...) and one would need to have a good supply of
potential clients. The way one gets clients is typically by having
worked with them for an extended amount of time. This typically
requires having had a full time job for an extensive amount of time.

This is what I am familiar with,
Claudietta

At one time in my life, I was a computer graphics artist. I worked
part-time out of my home, on a contract basis, and sometimes cleared
more than $60 per hour.

Like most high-paying jobs, this is not something that you just start
doing out of the blue. It takes a lot of talent and training.

Hi again Gremlin,

Have you considered selling Real Estate. I have several friends who
make quite a nice living doing so, while working part-time.

Best regards,
