Hi hislordship,

For occassional use:
1) Hold down the ALT key, press the numbers 0163 (or alternately 156)
on your numbers keypad, and then release the ALT key.

For frequent use:
2) Assuming you are using something like Windows 98, you can also add
British English to your keyboard and toggle it off and on as needed.

Start / Settings / Keyboard / Language / ADD / English (British) / OK
/ Click Enable Indicator on Taskbar / Apply.

Now you should be able to left click on the Language Indicator in the
taskbar and click on English (British). Your Number Sign (shift-3)
will now be the pound sign.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please post a

FYI, if you're using a Mac, just type option 3 and you'll get the
pound sterling symbol.
