This is a fascinating subject, but if you are needing "lots of info,"
you may want to consider raising your price considerably.

Some guidelines on pricing are available here:

hi, as I said, this is my first experience with this, so maybe just
relevant info relating to the sexual construction and identity of
women of the maddona/Whore dichotomy in Western Art. I sure hope
this is better :)

Your new price is certainly better, and is likely to bring you much
more detailed results.

One more question: Are you primarily seeking images, or text
discussions of this subject? It helps if we know where to focus our
attention as we search for material.

I best clarify that I have found Chaucers Lady of Bath as one great
medieval resourse. But I also want a linear approach up to
contemporary western art madonna/whore archytypes ????? this is fun !

OK pinkfreud, I am a shrink so Freud works well for me, I love the
final essay, but have it. The whore of Baylon, now that is something,
is she actually the whore and why, where can we determine that in
western art history?

Western Art and Literature is my request for the
Madonn/Whore/Temptresas/Prostitute dichotomy. I found leli-ga Dec 02
3rd with a 7 page response to Chaucer and Boccaccio's decameron, for
$20. This is my first attempt at this, so maybe I need some-one who is
familiar with WESTERN ART AND LITERATURE! Thanx again

Since you have said that several of the links I offered were things
that you'd already found, it would be very helpful if you would give
us a list of the material you have now, so that the next Researcher to
help you won't be duplicating your efforts.

I would like the Greatest, most Famous FEMALE Temptresses, Whore's
Prostitutes ONLY depicted in Western literature, from Medieval times
to present. And, then other side of the coin: The most Famous,
Greatest depicted Madonna's, Saints, Virgins, in WESTERN LITERATURE.
ONLY THE FAMOUS ONES PLEASE?

Then, EXACTLY the same request accept this time as depicted in western
ART.
Please, and Thankyou.

Here is an interesting collection of images of Mary Magdalene, who is
often conceptualized as a prostitute (although the Bible does not
describe her so):

Many images of the Virgin Mary may be found here:

Regarding your question about the Whore of Babylon, she is a symbolic
figure from the Biblical book of Revelation.

Here is poet/artist William Blake's 1809 depiction of the Whore of
Babylon:

Thank you. I am in the NYL so I have access to the Arts, you snet me
and the other literature references. I am looking for texts concerning
specifically the depiction of women in WEstern Literature and Art as
Whore/Madonna: Temptress/Angel etc... I have just found JFE 98-8564
and follwed that to hundreds of links. BUT that is so time consuming,
that is why I am here. I do not discredit you as I see how the
references are OVERLOADED. I guess putting Madonna and Whore together
was not as easy as I first thought.

If I can have some precise articles on what Western Art and Literature
simply has to say, critisisms, yadda yadda yaddda about this dichotomy
as opposed to finding Art which I have, and mounds of literature on
the HUGE subject. Can we do that? does that make sense?
