For those of us who may not understand how "old Japanese trading
companies" used to provide import-export services through convention
centers, could you expand a bit on your question?

Thanks.

OK Eric, what I am looking for is the names of convention and
exposition centers in the world that manage to provide export
assistance to local industial producers as well as carriying out their
traditinal expos. Japanesse Trading companies detected the need for a
specific product in some given market, then screened the producers
market for it, found and selected the best option and sold it acting
as sales agent and in some cases also providing finance for
buyer. These Trading Companies (20 years ago) did NOT use an exposition
center as a source for deals but used standard office faccilities. My
idea is given that we have such a center where thousands of producers
show their products and millions of people see them, a switch to
exports is thinkable. Thanks
