When you ask about the advantages and disadvantages of today's
browsers, are you interested in the current generation of browsers
(Internet Explorer 6, Mozilla 1.2.1, Netscape 7, Apple Safari (and
other Knoqueror/KDE browsers), and Opera 7?  Or are you talking about
the most popularly used browser:  Internet Explorer 5.5?  Are you also
including WebTV, cell phones, and PDA web browsers, in your question?

Are you asking from the perspective of trying to choose a browser to
standardize on within an organization, or, are you asking from the
perspective of creating content that is viewable on the widest number
of browsers?

More details would help researchers provide an answer targeted at your
concerns.

On the surface the answer is that simple. If you want an answer worth
$150, I suggest that you be much more specific about the type of
answer you are after.

Perhaps something like...

List the top browers (10 if possible), in order of popularity used by
each category of user - web surfers, business users and webmasters.

List any unique features of each browser (ie HTML editing). 

List any negative aspects of each browser (ie crashes often).

Provide a commentary on the future of web browsers - new features we
can expect, will Microsoft continue to dominate, etc - and support it
with links to authorative articles.
