I am looking for a quality CD burning and jukebox program for my PC
that I can use beside Real One or Real Jukebox. For reasons not worth
going into, I can't use Real products on my computer. I want a program
that someone has used successfully or can vouch for in a significant
way. I want a program that allows me to easily record CDs onto my PC,
scan and important audio files from my harddrive, and burn CDs with -
for my own private listening. I am hoping that this program will be
something that is updated regularly and is in the same functionality
ballpark as Real Jukebox. Music Match Jukebox is not going to do the
trick unless it is much better than what shipped with my computer in
2000. I'm running Windows 98 Second Edition.

I’ve used them all at one time or another but one that that has far
exceeded any other in my opinion is ROXIO’S EASY CD CREATOR (v6 is now
available). You can play, rip, burn, edit, enhance, you name it, right
from the application. My CD’s sound like first run music and I can
even convert MP3’s to car-tunes without having to study any manuals or
become very proficient with the application at all. My first attempt
to burn was very successful and I’ve been using this one now for a
long, long time. A competetor would have to come up with something
very impressive to get my attention. I am very pleased:

The best PLAYER online for the money (free) is NULLSOFT’S WINAMP. This
was a treasure find for me and I’ve used it ever since first being
introduced to it a couple of years ago. I never even upgraded to a
newer version because frankly, when someone gets it right, they just
get it right – and Nullsoft got it right with Winamp the first time.
It has custom skins and visuals that are pretty cool (and free) and
even has plugin features (that are also free) such as one that will
scroll karaoke-style lyrics if you are into that, and much more. It’s
just an all around fine piece of work. What can I say?:
