I need to identity the type of animal that left tracks in the snow.
The picture is located at http://www.pi40.com/tracks. It may just be a
rabbit but I would like to find out for sure.

Greetings pi40net!

I am fairly certain that those are rabbit tracks.

First, examine the tracks that are created by a bounding cottontail
rabbit:
"Animal Autographs":
http://www.conservation.state.mo.us/nathis/mammals/autogrph/

They look almost exactly like the tracks in your photo.

Here are some other images of rabbit tracks:

"Rabbit tracks":

"Brush Rabbit":
http://www.bear-tracker.com/brushrbt.html

"Cody investigates rabbit tracks on the snow-covered ice of Lake
Mead...":

Graphic of Cottontail Rabbit tracks:
"Mount Rainier Nature News Notes":

I hope this information is helpful. If you would like for me to
clarify any part of my answer or further research your question,
please let me know before issuing a rating. Also, please indicate the
size of the prints and the length between the tracks (i.e. 1 foot, 2
feet, etc). Thanks! (And Enjoy the bunny.)
