I'm looking for some articles or web pages that analyze the financial
diffculty of United Airline. I have been reading some articles from
CNN.com, but most of them tell brief story. What I am really intersted
are articles relate to the company's strategy plans, marketing,
employeement or management issues. Please help me to find related

Hi klin0626,

For publicly traded companies like United Airlines, you can get a good
idea of their strategy and plans by reading their annual reports,
earnings statements, and certain SEC filings (such as 10-Ks, 10-Qs,
and 8-Ks).

If you can wait 1 or 2 more weeks, you'll be able to see their 2002
Annual Report to shareholders and their Form 10-K Annual Report filing
to the SEC. Both of these will tell you about their current strategy
and plans.
(Form 10-K filings to the SEC typically provide balanced descriptions
of company operations, while Annual Reports to shareholders tend to
have a positive spin, as the latter are not subject to regulations on
the sort of information that must appear in them.)

Here is the Form 10-K that they filed with the SEC in March 2002:
http://ccbn.tenkwizard.com/filing.php?repo=tenk&ipage=1670527&doc=1&total=&attach=ON&TK=UAL&CK=100517&CN=UAL

It describes their marketing strategy, employee matters, and financial
recovery plan.

Here is their 2001 Annual Report (released in March 2002):
http://media.corporate-ir.net/media_files/NYS/UAL/reports/032702.pdf

It has less information than the Form 10-K, but with regards to the
marketing strategy, employee matters, and financial recovery plan, the
information is very similar.

Here is their press release for their 4th quarter and full year
financial results for 2002:
http://www.corporate-ir.net/ireye/ir_site.zhtml?ticker=UAL&script=410&layout=-6&item_id=377199

It contains a small amount of information on their strategy, employee
issues, and financial recovery. Like annual reports to shareholders,
these press releases typically have a positive slant to them. The
corresponding SEC filing to this particular press release would be the
Form 10-K, since it is the year end press release. For the previous
three quarters, their press releases have corresponding Form 10-Q SEC
filings.
