My original question was partially answered by "juggler-ga" on 02-27-03. The reason "juggler-ga's" answer is only "partial", is because it does not accurately address the situation; i.e., "That the original 15-player regular season varsity roster can be (is) augmented by 5-10 additional players from junior varsity and even lower levels, who, for CIF Sectional and State Championship games, don varsity uniforms, sit on the varsity bench and enter games to play, and even score, despite the fact that all 15 regular-season varsity players have appeared in the same game and some might even be on the floor in combination with lower-level players during the game. Meaning, that as many as 20, or more, players from one, or both teams may have been involved in the same game." Will someone please address this situation in detail, citing any CIF regualtion allowing the expansion beyond 15 players. Thanks, roderickharmon@adelphia.net |

I'm sorry that my earlier answer did not meed your needs. However, I must disagree with your assertion that my answer was "partial" or somehow inaccurate. Your earlier question was, and I quote: "So, the question: What is the roster size for varsity teams in the CIF Sectional and State Championship Playoffs? http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=168114 The roster size for varsity teams in the CIF Sectional and State Championship Playoffs is 15 players. This is fully documented on cifstate.org http://www.cifstate.org/Basketball/Basketball%20Handbooks/main.htm "Squad size is limited to 15 players in uniform, one head coach, two assistant coaches, and one trainer."
