i'd like a site review on www.conferencers.com We're not looking to win awards, just sell more conferencers. General feedback as well as specific suggestions, errors, confusions, etc. Include links to the pages where suggestions are appropriate. Would you buy a conferencer from this site? Why? Why not? It's ok to go ahead to order page and put google researcher in order, and put 1234 etc in credit card. |

I believe an detailed review would be slightly more than I could answer in GoogleAnswers. It would be more beneficial for you to contact a profession firm or research it for yourself. Below I've listed three books and some websites that will be helpful to you. Below that I've listed a general review of your website that I conducted myself. I am a professional internet developer and qualified to make such an evaluation, but you really need a more detailed review than I can provide here. Websites: http://www.useit.com/ http://www.usableweb.com/ http://www.usabilityfirst.com/ http://www.webmasterbase.com/article.php?aid=223&pid=9 Books: Homepage Usability - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/073571102X/qid=1021927794/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_3/103-2037765-7019830 Designing Web Usability - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/156205810X/qid=1021927794/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-2037765-7019830 Usability for the Web - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1558606580/qid=1021927794/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_2/103-2037765-7019830 General Review of your website: 1. Your four products on the homepage is great! Good to place your products directly in front of your potential customers. Major increase in sales by doing this. 2. Change your first paragraph so it makes sense and uses proper English. Make it extend the entire width of the web page, not just a portion of it. 3. Make your logo easier to see. Increasing your branding will increase the number of repeat visits you receive. 4. Take off the graphic in the top left! 5. If you are going to use a side navigation bar, add a background color to the bar to easily distinguish it from the main content of the website. 6. Place your "View Cart" button higher up on the page. You might want to consider adding a shopping cart icon it. Many visitors now look for an icon when they "scan" the website. 7. On your "why use an audio conferencer?" link, I suggest placing that link in your initial paragraph on the home page and eliminating it from the sidebar. Visitors love content and this link should be more visible. 8. Also make your "Live Chat" link more visible and place it higher on the page. By using the graphic on the top left you have really extended your page down a lot more than is neccessary. 9. Remove the word "polycom" from the links above your phones. It's redundant to mention it every time. 10. Change the buy button under the pictures to a "more info" button. A link marked "buy" should take you directly to the order page. 11. Your pricing table is confusing. Your "Use:, Retail:, etc." do not stand out. Either elimate the table by just showing your price, or create a light grey bar across the table on every other row. I also recommend crossing out the retail price using the HTML StrikeOut tag. 12. Your "Use:" field should be more visible so visitors can easily determine the phone that's right for their needs. I suggest placing it above the picture in bold, not the actual name of the phone. The name of the product is not as important as the use of the product. 13. The links at the bottom of the page (but above the footer) should span the entire width of the page. Do not condense them into two lines. This concludes my basic review of your homepage. I would definitely recommend getting a more detailed review. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask for clarification. Thank you! Xemion | |

Hi headsetsdotcom, I guess this is your second site on Google asking for user testing and it seems that you are really Njoying this single place of Google for your queries. Thanks for it. Regarding your site, I'd say that I liked it as a user and the flow was easy to navigate w/o any complexity. I feel that you need to make some cosmetic and code changes so that the site can get a more touch-up. Here are my testing results: 1. When the first page is viewed, my first feeling was that there is a lot of White space in it and you need to remove this. 2. There is no need to have a Vertical Scroll bar on the first page. You can remove this very easily by formatting the content and by removing the unnecessary white space. 3. All the links are working fine and there is no dead link. 4. At the top right hand side, you can align "Looking for Telephone Headsets?" in a single line, to make it look better. 5. All the images in full length look quite cool and catchy. 6. Is it possible for you to have a large image available for the different colors of Polycom SoundStation Premier. Currently it's only for Charcoal mist. 7. When a product is selected for Cart, there is no check for the number field. I mean that I tried to gave a character and it accepted that. On the first hand only, it should tell the customer to enter only number. 8. In the Shopping Cart, if I give an alphanumeric character in the text box, I get an error saying that "Software error: Cant insert For help, please send mail to the webmaster (admin), giving this error message and the time and date of the error" It seems that it is trying to write and alphanumeric data to a numeric field in your database which is throwing this error. This should be taken care of. 9. The checkout page takes lot of time to download. 10. Quantity and the Item Price should be together to give a better understanding of the Total Price. Also the column where you've given the Quantity, you should give the Serial number for the items. This will give an indication to the user about how many different items are being purchased. 11. In the "Checkout your order" page, there is a line which says "NOTE: To delete an item from your cart, set the Quantity to 0. " But here there is no option to make any change. So this line either should be removed or some functionality should be added to make the changes. This line is very much misleading here. 12. When I cliked on top Update button on the "Checkout your order" page, I get the following error: "Content-type: text/html Software error: Bad format file: No row definition. For help, please send mail to the webmaster (admin), giving this error message and the time and date of the error" This should be re-checked. 13. There is no front end check on the check out page. By front end checking, I mean that when I give zip code, the code should check that its all numbers and should not exceed 5 digits. Similarly for the expiration date, email id, phone number and other fields there should be appropriate checks. 14. I tried to enter numbers more than 16 digits in the Credit card field, and it accepeted that. I think currently this field is for test purpose only, but make sure about this test also in CC field. These are my testing results. I enjoyed doing the testing because the site was very much user friendly and easy to navigate. It will definitly attract customers. I'll definitely purchase your products whenever need be. I hope this will help you out. Regards, netcrazy |
