My HPOfficeJet T45 printer works perfectly with printing, copying and
scanning, but I cannot print e-mail messages. I have an IBM G70
monitor - it also works well, however there must be a way to print.
When I had an old Packard Bell monitor I could print e-mail with no
difficulty. Please help!
Thanks.I'll be happy to pay $10. for a resolution to this problem.

What happens when you try to print? Do you get an error message?

Which application do you use for email? Do you use Outlook Express,
or something else?

With the answers to those questions, and any other information you
choose to provide, I would be happy to investigate this question.

I am unable to print e-mail (received and sent). My monitor is an IBM
G70, which works perfectly except that I cannot print e-mail or any
web information oon my HP Office Jet T45. When I click print in
Outlook Express or on a website, the printer page comes up promptly,
BUT it covers the entire screen to the extent that the lower l/4 of
the screen is obscured. Hence I cannot complete the printer page and
of course, it doesn't get the message to print. The Office Jet works
very well on scanning, printing from Microsoft Word, copying, and so
forth. But I cannot get the printer instruction page down to size -
and cannot print anything off the web or mail messages. I hope that
yhis clarification will enable you to help me.

Thanks so much for your prompt response.

Can you tell me what version of Windows you are using, and, what
screen resolution you are using (if you know)?

Thanks,

Legolas-ga

My display is set at high color 16 bit and 640 by 480 pixels. I have
the same problem with that as I cannot reset. The monitor screen is
also covered completely, so that I cannot click/point to apply or okay
at the bottom of the screen. The same problem as I have when I
attempt to print.

Thanks for your interest - I am amazed that you are hanging in there
with this.

Hello again. I see where you asked what windows I am using. I am
using Windows 98 - high color 16 bit and 640 by 480 pixels that I
cannot change as the monitor screen is completely covered...leaving
the lower 1/4 unavailable to click apply, okay, etc.

Thanks again...sorry this was not complete earlier. Certainly admire
your persistance.

Hello percyjay,

If I understand correctly then you already know you need a higher
resolution and you already know HOW to change it - but the fact that
it is currently 640 x 480 is making it impossible to apply a higher
setting.

Perhaps you could try the following to get you out of the situation:
 - Go to the display settings again (right-click on the desktop and
choose "Properties"
 - Drag the slider up one notch to the 800 x 600
 - Hit the Return key on the keyboard.

Hopefuly that will give you the higher resolution you need to see the
whole print dialogue or otherwise experiment with other resolutions.
Let us know how you get on.

percyjay...

It occurs to me that your monitor may be out of adjustment.
I am not familiar with your monitor, but most have front
panel controls such as heighth and width which will allow
you to bring all of the display within the boundaries of the
screen. Once this is done, you should have access to all
the controls needed to adjust your resolution, if necessary.
Let me know if this helps.

It's so long since I used it that I can't remember, but doesn't using
the boot-up menu options allow a limited boot-up option using Windows
default settings which will likely be 800x600.

As the problem is caused by the *monitor resolution*, using a more
relevant subject line might attract the attention of people who are
currently ignoring this question because they aren't interesting in
answering a question on printing/email.

What about just right-clicking on the text of the email you want to
print, pasting it into a word document, and printing it? Is that what
you do now? Just curious.

Sorry to be so late in responding - I am not certain which one of you
solved my problem. Several mentioned hit the Return key to give me a
higher resolution - this did not work on that - however, (GOOD NEWS!)
when I brought up the printer page, hitting Enter did the trick!
IMMEDIATELY! So thanks - certainly worth the $10.00 to get that
problem solved. Incidentally, the reason for being so annoyed at not
being able to print e-mail was because our grandson is in Kuwait (or
Bagdad tonight, perhaps) so there is considerable correspondence going
on between all of us. Those who do not have email, receive the
messages snail mail.

Thanks...again sorry I don't remember exactly who helped the most. At
any rate, all's well again!
