I am designing a couple of fascinating Peer 2 Peer applications. I
have been doing much of the coding myself, and am now looking for some
assistance to take it to the "next level". However, while I have some
money, I dont have nearly enough to hire someone full time.

I dont where or how to find the best/top-notch C++ Internet Software
developers who might be interested in working on this project.

Here are the benits I can offer:
 - partial ownership in the company
 - small hourly fee (its not alot, but its something!)

Basically, I was thinking that I might be able to attract some really
talented C++ programmers who are "bored" with their day job and
looking for an external challenge to supplement their day job.

The problem is I dont know how to go about putting a team together.
We could work and communicate online and via telephone.

The application is for Peer 2 Peer Streaming Audio/Radio and Peer 2
Peer
Intellectual Property Proection.

The problem is with my limited resources I can't afford to
mentor/coach a junior developer and neither can I afford the $$$ of a
senior developer. That is my catch-22.

If anyone has some ideas of where/how I could solve this type of
problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

What hourly fee did you plan to offer? I ask because $80 per hour gets
you a very different programmer than $20 per hour. Can you give us an
idea of where you are at on this?

If I could restate the question, assume that I can offer a token
payment in the range of $500 or $1000. The problem is that I would
easily get "sunk" with $20 per hour or $80 per hour after a few weeks!

You might browse for volunteers at sourceforge.net (Open Source
projects) or at gotdotnet.com (MS .Net collaborations).

The extent to which you wish to maintain proprietary interest in this
project may pose a dilemma for you on the funding side. Top-notch C++
coders will certainly "cost" something one way or another, if you wish
to own the code they produce for the project.

best wishes, mathtalk

Hi Douglas,
This kinda peeked my interest. I have 6 years of networking software
development experience. I am extremely proficient in C++ coupled with
strong OO development concepts.
I am open to either option. I would like more info.
Thanks!
