Hello Rr3225,

After Google Answers was started, there were some changes made in the
duration of questions. For example,
http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=search&q=%2Bthe&qtype=unanswered&num=10&sort=qeendts:D:R:d1

shows a number of questions that are still unaswered with days
remaining ranging from 107 to 102 days left [today it does]. If you
work it out, the original question was posted with a period of one
year (365 days) to answer the question.

For reference, the oldest unanswered question is
http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=3153
which was asked almost a year ago. There are just over 20 "old"
unanswered questions left.

The limit on how long a question can be left open was changed late in
June 2002 to a month (30 days).
