Current host provides the following:
20Mb storage
full FTP access
1Gb bandwidth allowance
unlimited POP3 email addresses to 1 inbox
cgi-bin
perl 5 with no restriction on custom built scripts
php4
ssi
.htaccess (selected allow overrides)
dialup local-rate ISP account
they charge £25 per annum for the above.
I'm looking for a new host, since unfortunately their tech support has
let me down for the final time, with my sites down for an extended
period with all methods of contacting them not responding.
I'm looking for similar features & pricing as above, but would like
AllowOverrideAll on the .htaccess
php would be nice but not essential.
Also, I'd like tech support to be available by telephone, not
neccessarily 24/7, just as long as I know there's a specific period of
the day, or even selected days of the week, when I know I can get hold
of them. Ideally a recommendation would be good, either from a
researcher's direct experience, or maybe from a check of usenet /
relevant web forums etc? - I would not trust a statement solely on the
host's own page such as 'our support lines are open 24 hours a day, 7
days a week' etc.
Located in the UK would be an advantage. |
