I work for a Plumbing & Heating contractor in the Seattle area. There
are way too many factors in converting from one system to another to
give advice here. What I would recommend is to go to your local Yellow
Pages and get 4-5 estimates from licensed, insured, and bonded Heating
Contractors. MAKE SURE they are licensed and insured. Just having an
ad in the yellow pages is not enough, insurance can lapse. Most
municipalities make this information available by phone, or at their
website. If you check on the license status of each company, you'll
know who is insured. As insurance policies lapse, the Insurance
Carrier is bound by law to report this to the State in which you
reside. So, if the company's State registration is not suspended, you
are fine.
There are so many possibilities, I wouldn't even know where to begin
to offer advice except for this. It's impossible to recommend anything
without SEEING the situation: hence the onsite bids.
They will be free, if not, call the next company on your list of
contractors with current State Registrations.
