A rough approximation of this chant (though I don't know where the
words start and end, so they aren't really broken up into words--the
idiotic spelling is to clarify what someone heard):

"Om Oh-bah-nee Koh shay-ree,  Oh wa sah yay,  Ay shay yee.
O-mo-ba-oh-ray."

There are several languages used in Nigeria.  Do you have any inkling
which one the chant might be in?

Failing that, can you offer up any explanation of the context in which
the chant was heard?  Any inconsequential detail may give us a clue to
work with...
