I want to start a newsletter and need advice on building a subscriber
list. I'm wondering if there are any newsletters or books for
newsletter writers. I will not use SPAM to build the list. Any ideas?

Hi there techauthor!
I, too, did quite a bit of research while in the process of starting
up my own newsletter. Along with the links provided by "thereal"
below for research, I have the one book that is a must have, and,
perhaps, the only book necessary to start a newsletter. It is "Poor
Richard's E-mail Publishing" by Chris Pirillo. If you're not familiar
with Chris Pirillo, he is the master-mind behind
http://www.lockergnome.com . You really should check that site out
now. He started with one newsletter a few years ago, and now he has
several with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. His good work and
knowledge even got him a co-host position on TechTV's "Call for Help".

You can purchase the book from Amazon.com here:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0966103254/lunabeancom

And, please, check out the reviews of the book. You'll notice I'm not
the only one raving about it.

If you are serious about starting a newsletter, you have no choice but
to purchase this book!

Best of luck to you!
