Question ID: 174667
Recently Pony Sneakers was purchased by a Beverly Hills talent agency
called The Firm. I'm interested in their history prior to this recent
acquisition. When were they started? Who were their customers? What
were their sales? Were there celebrities associated with their
brand? Why did The Firm decide to acquire this dying brand? What are
their sales today? Projected?

Let me know if the following answers your question:

The Firm started in 1997
Their target customers are teenagers and young adults
Their celebrities are associated with their brand such as Korn and
Limp Bizkit
In regards to sales information, I don't think that has been revealed
for either "The Firm" or "Pony Sneakers"
I think The Firm decided to acquire this brand for Cross Promotional
Reasons.

I'm realizing my question may have been unclear. I am actually
interested in the background for Pony, not the Firm. Sorry for the
confusion.

From http://www.cincypost.com/2002/may/17/lonnie051702.html

"Pony was a bad-boy shoe, worn by the Oakland Raiders and a quarter of
the NBA. Meaning ''irreverent,'' one of the shoe-marketing Web sites
has Freudishly referred to Pony as ''irrelevant,'' which it became
around the same time as Darryl Dawkins."

From "http://noizepollution.com/pony_clothing/pony_clothing.asp"

2001 marks the re-launch of Pony clothing which was initialy created
in 1972. Originally worn by such sports greats as '77 Super Bowl
Champion Oakland Raiders and NBA stars like Wilt Chamberlain, Pony has
now been re-discovered by a new generation. You have probably already
seen the likes of Korn, Limp Bizkit and Staind sporting Pony.
