Greetings Researchers & Readers:

I am looking for a Rich Text editor that can be used in place of a
TEXTAREA box. This editor definately needs support for
uploading/placing images. Other than that, that's about it.

I found one example at http://richtextbox.com/ but would realy like to
see what is out there. I'm interested in knowing the following about
each product:
 - Price
 - Implementation (ASP.NET Component, javascript file, flash
animation, etc.)
 - Compatability
 - Ease of customization (like turning off Bold, etc)
 - How images are handled
 - download (end user/client) time

I understand that these can be relatively easy to program, so I would
immagine that there are quite a few out there. Please get as many as
you can find and let me know those six things about each product.

I look forward to reading your answer! Please feel free to ask for
clarification.

Thanks!

Check out the 'contenteditable' tag in DHTML. There is plenty of
discussion of this at msdn.microsoft.com. That way you can roll your
own.
