I am a telecom professional who is interested in finding software that
resides on my PC (laptop with Windows XP Pro) that provides similar
functionality to http://www.projectkickstart.com as an individual
user. I do not need anything at the enterprise level; that is too much
(and, usually, too pricey).
I have previously researched this and would like to know if I've
missed anything better.
My [ideal] requirements:
-Must be under US$200.
-Interoperable with MS Project (from my clients) and MS Office
(especially Outlook)
-Ability to set reminders (on-screen and, preferably, via email)
-Interface intuitive enough that a reasonably computer-literate person
would have no problems figuring out how to use the software (minimal
help required)
-Potentially web-based: Can at least save projects to HTML (or
derivative) format (I want this application to be localized on my PC,
so this is not an absolute requirement, but a good feature for
expandability)
-Potentially PDA-synchronizable (though this is covered under email,
above, as I usually receive alerts in this fashion; not an absolute
requirement)
A "good" answer would be a listing of software producers and links to
specific product(s). An "excellent" answer would be a "good" answer
with critical commentary of each source.
Many thanks for your help! |
