I need to set up a paid email account, but it has to be with a service
that is not gonna vanish. Yahoo would be ideal for my purposes but
sadly does not recognise my credit card, though most online services
do. Hotmail is an option but I am not keen on the interface and the
associated products try to poke their noses in. What other paid
options are available for a maximum of £30 a year ? A list and some
independent assessment would be fine. Thanks

Hi wolvies!

It's nice to see you back again! I don't think I've worked for you
before, but I recognize your name from seeing it all over. I hope
you're pleased with what I've found for you.

Probably the most well known and definitely the "cleanest" (spam
free!) web mail service is run by Julian Haight and his SpamCop crew:

SpamCop E-mail
http://mail.spamcop.net/individuals.php

Just $30/year (about £19), SpamCop is well known for its stability,
freedom from spam and privacy protection. Kiss the Viagra ads
goodbye. Though I don't subscribe to SpamCop's webmail (as I own
several domains and have plenty of e-mail addresses to spare), I do
avail myself of their other services, and have found them to be
nothing less than competent, prompt, and professional.

Ad-free, spam filtered, and with POP access (so you can check your
web-mail with a traditional e-mail client if you wish) is 123mail.com.
123mail's basic service is just $24/year. PC Computing rated
123mail's service 5 stars in April, 2000.

123mail - How It Works
http://www.123mail.net/howit.htm

Offered by Mail.com, a leading web mail provider, DotName mail offers
ad free, pop-up free, spam filtered web mail starting at $24.95/year.
A basic package offers 10MB of mail storage, and all packages offer
the ability to pick your own mail domain name! (So if you wanted to
go with wolvies@ga.name, you could!)

DotName

Everyone.net, provider of e-mail services to large sites such as The
Open Diary and Free Open Diary, also offers a Personal Mail service
similar to DotName, in that you can choose your own domain name.
Everyone.net will register your domain name for you for free, or you
can use a name you already own.

Basic service is $34.99/year and includes 5 mail boxes (great if you
want to share or if you need extra addresses) - no ads, no pop-ups, no
spam, and you can use the POP access if you wish.

I hope you find this list helpful! If you need further assistance,
please don't hesitate to ask for clarification. I'll be glad to help.

I am stuck with everyone.net at
Domain Name Registration Information
it seems I can choose not to but I can't because it won't let me through

Until then it looked the best

Hi wolvies,

What do you mean by stuck? Is the server not processing your request
or is there something else that's giving you trouble there?

Let me know, and I'll see how to get it untangled for you.

Thank you - the problem was I was tired and didn't see the option to
set domain name registration to the same as the billing address so
left it blank. Tonight it worked fine and I registered my address. I
will let you know when it becomes active that all is well, but it
looks good. Thanks !

I have used Everyone.net, mentioned by Missy, and I highly recommend
it. I've never had an outage, and there is no spam. The extra
mailboxes are very handy, too.

Hi... not sure if you're looking for a UK based service - this one is
not, but it gets good reviews.

I have set up the everyone.net account and been using it all day - it
looks good and once I got all the email accounts done I could stop
worrying that anyone I emailed would try to register as well ! I am
still confused as to how it relates back to the everyone.net login but
don't think I need to worry. What I do wonder is what happened to the
original login name I chose for the domain, it seems to have lost its
password, and how do I know what the storage capacity of the email
accounts are. I like to save outgoing messages etc... These questions
don't need an answer unless anyone feels like popping one down here.
they certainly are not a request to missy.ga to add anything, are just
my thoughts on a good service from a great Google Answers answer.
Thanks !

Hi wolvies!

I'll be glad to give you a hand, provided you promise to buy yourself
some good chocolate and sacrifice it appropriately! ;)
